Tideriders 2023 Season
Hello Tideriders!
This is our official welcome letter to start off our 2023 season. We are very
excited to see you all back as well as welcome new members! We are ready to
kick the season off with a few announcements.
First, we would like to introduce our Coaching staff. We are excited to welcome
back our Head Coach, Carly Roberts. We are fortunate to have Carly lead
our team, she swam for the Coast Guard Blue Dolphins for 12 years, she is a
United States Masters swimmer, a former Head Coach for RD Wilkinson YMCA and a
Certified Personal Trainer. Bonnie Ketterman is returning as an Assistant
Coach/Co-Manager. We have created this new role due to all the
"behind the scenes" work that Bonnie manages for the team.
Bonnie has been swimming with the Tideriders for over 14 years, with several of those years as the Asst Coach and Jr Coach. She just finished her first year at JMU and is happy to back in the water with the kids. Last but not least, we are VERY excited to announce the newest member of the coaching team, Sophia Harris!! Sophia has been on the team since 2020 and is a strong swimmer. We look forward to seeing Sophia take on this new role with the team!
Second, we will begin practices on Tuesday May 30th in the evenings from
6-7pm. We will continue evening practices through June 16th. Starting June 19th,
we will go to morning practices, 7:30-9:00 am. Practice schedules will be
posted on the website. For our first practice, May 30th, we will start with
swimmers and parents out by the picnic tables to introduce the coaches. Then
the coaches and swimmers will get to work while we have an informational
meeting for the parents. Lots of important info will be discussed, please
plan to attend. We look forward to seeing everyone May 30th.
Last but not least, we are still looking to add members to the team! If you are
interested but have not registered, please do so as soon as possible in order
to help us plan for the season. If you know of anyone looking for a fun
activity to participate in this summer, send them our way.
Sincerely,
Laura Ketterman
